Frequently asked questions

The things people most often want to know about Fuoco Apizza.

Do I need a reservation?
Parties of five or more should book ahead through the Visit page. Smaller groups can usually walk in, though Friday and Saturday nights fill up fast and run on a waitlist.
Where do I park?
The Crown Street Garage is right next door and we validate for two hours. Street parking on Crown and nearby blocks is metered until 9 PM.
What is apizza, and what is a white clam pie?
Apizza (say ah-beetz) is New Haven's thin, oblong, coal-fired pie with a charred, chewy crust. The white clam pie is the local legend: littleneck clams, garlic, olive oil, parsley and lemon, with no cheese at all.
Do you have gluten-free or vegetarian options?
Yes. Any pie can be made on a gluten-free crust, cooked on its own tray with separate tools, though our oven also bakes regular pies. Half the menu is vegetarian, and the Greens and Beans pie is vegan without cheese.
Do you do takeout and catering?
Whole pies go out all night, call ahead and we will time yours out of the oven. For parties, we do half and full trays of pies, salads and cannoli with 48 hours notice.
Are kids welcome?
Very. High chairs, a plain pie with mozzarella for picky eaters, and a counter where they can watch the oven. Strollers fit best before 6 PM.
